Saturday, June 29, 2019
3:30 PM
Rancho de Chimayó
300 Juan Medina Rd, Chimayó, NM
Shuttle Pickup & Dropoff
Although the wedding venue is a bit outside of the city limits of Santa Fe, we recommend that all guests look for accomodations in and around downtown Santa Fe as that’s where the other wedding weekend events will be happening and it’s where Orion and Josie will be staying.
We will provide shuttles from downtown Santa Fe to the venue and back. You’ll be able to fully enjoy the party without worrying about any of the logistics of transportation.
Shuttle pickup will occur in front of La Posada de Santa Fe (330 E Palace Ave, Santa Fe, NM 87501) at 2:30 PM. Shuttles will depart Rancho de Chimayó at 9:00 PM, dropping guests off at La Posada and then making a stop at Boxcar for those who want to keep the party going.
Ceremony & Reception
The ceremony will take place at 3:30 PM at Rancho de Chimayó. The ceremony will be held outdoors, followed by an indoor dinner and an outdoor reception.
Attire
Recommended attire is summer cocktail. Think about style, but also think about comfort – you will be outdoors for a large part of the day! This will include walking on dirt and grass and being in the sun (there will be covered areas to cool off).

Things to Do in Santa Fe
Food & Drink
- The Shed (sfshed.com) - Excellent restaurant, get a reservation!
- Tia Sophia’s (tiasophias.com) - Famous for their breakfast burritos.
- The Tune Up (tuneupsantafe.com) - Delicious huevos and other breakfast/brunch items.
- La Plazuela at La Fonda on the Plaza (lafondasantafe.com) - Beautiful hotel restaurant where they make tableside guacamole that converted Josie’s brother Andy from a guacamole hater to a guacamole lover when he was a little kid.
- Cafe Pasqual’s (pasquals.com) - Supposed to be one of the best brunches in Santa Fe.
- Santa Fe Brewing Company (santafebrewing.com) - A quick drive outside of town, good beer and a big space for casual hangouts.
- Blake’s Lotaburger (lotaburger.com) - The big local burger chain (like Dick’s in Seattle) that will get you a great green chile burger or breakfast burrito on the fast and cheap.
- El Parasol (elparasol.com) - Another local chain serving up excellent fast New Mexican food. Try the tamales or tacos!
- Kakawa Chocolate House (kakawachocolates.com) - Rich, indulgent chocolate drinks and other chocolate products. Great gift options too!
Sights
- Canyon Road (visitcanyonroad.com) - A half-mile route packed with art galleries.
- Georgia O’Keeffe Museum (okeeffemuseum.org) - We went there a couple of years ago and it was fun and interesting!
- Museum of International Folk Art (internationalfolkart.org) - A quick drive outside of town to visit a popular Pratt family vacation destination. Their permanent exhibit “Multiple Visions: A Common Bond” is an amazing collection with thousands of toys from around the world!
- Meow Wolf (meowwolf.com) - A relatively new “immersive art experience,” we’ve never been but want to go!
- Loretto Chapel (lorettochapel.com) - If the phrase “miraculous staircase” piques your interest, you might want to take a moment to visit this chapel.
- El Santuario de Chimayo (holychimayo.us) - This Roman Catholic church in Chimayó is a National Historic Landmark and one of the most notable pilgrimage sites in the US. Known for the story of its founding in the early 1800’s and the curative effects ascribed to its “holy dirt,” the Santuario is worth a visit if you are interested in the history of the area.
- La Cieneguilla Petroglyphs (blm.gov) - A short drive and hike can lead you to one of the largest intact collections of native rock art in America, dating back as far as the 13th century.
- Santa Fe Hikes alltrails.com - Not as keen on petroglyphs but still looking for a good hike? There are a bunch around Santa Fe in all sorts of different terrains!
- Institute of American Indian Arts Disc Golf Course (iaia.edu) - One of the better reviewed courses in the area. Its 18 holes are pay-to-play, but they seem well-maintained as part of the college and should give you a taste of playing desert golf.
